Why Does This Matter?

The Jehovah’s Witness religion claims to be the epitome of truth and honesty but has resorted to deception and lies in order to make their beliefs appear credible.

As early as the 1980s, some Jehovah’s Witnesses discovered the dishonesty in the Creation book and informed the leaders, who responded by:
  1. Failing to acknowledge the extent of their wrongdoing, making only minor corrections in later editions of their publication.
  2. Brushing off and punishing complainants.
  3. Continuing to promote their dishonest publication.

The Creation book has not been replaced by another book of similar scope and detail.

Does the dishonesty extend into other Jehovah’s Witness teachings? Information on web sites such as JWfacts reveals that similar dishonest practices have been used to justify many other Jehovah’s Witness beliefs such as:
  1. Rejection of the Trinity doctrine.
  2. Refusal of medical treatments involving blood.
  3. The time of the end commencing in 1914.
  4. Signs of the times.
  5. Jesus dying on a stake rather than a cross.

The leaders must think they can get away with this because:
  1. Their followers have been taught to trust their leaders and not to question them.
  2. The effort involved in checking their claims would discourage people.
  3. They attempt to tightly control the information their followers receive.

Why would such deception be necessary if their beliefs were true?

How can a religion that is so dishonest claim to be the one true religion?

Jehovah’s Witnesses believe that God has entrusted them, the only true religion with the responsibility of preaching their message to the entire inhabited earth. They believe that the way a person responds will determine whether they will live forever in paradise or face destruction. In theory, every honest open-minded person should respond by becoming a Jehovah’s Witness. The reality however, is that an honest, informed person would be repulsed by their dishonesty. This means that the preaching of Jehovah’s Witnesses has been invalidated and rendered worthless.

The inescapable conclusion is that the Jehovah’s Witness religion is a false religion.

Someone who is an atheist might say: “as far as I am concerned, all religions are false religions, so why is this important?” The difference with Jehovah’s Witnesses is that some of their teachings have severe negative consequences:
  1. Rejection of blood transfusions has cost many lives, including that of children.
  2. Breaking one of many rules of the church can result in disfellowshipping – an extreme punishment that means that a person is cut off from all contact with other members including their family. Something as innocent as celebrating a birthday or Christmas could result in disfellowshipping.
  3. Deciding to leave the church often results in the same severe consequences as disfellowshipping.
  4. Strict adherence to political neutrality policies can result in punishment or death in authoritarian countries.
  5. Separation from “the world” and an internal judicial system can result in social isolation and cover-up of crimes such as child abuse.

In summary, we have a lying, dishonest and therefore morally corrupt religion with doctrines and practices that can have severe negative consequences including premature death. That is why it is important to expose the truth about Jehovah’s Witnesses.
